Who qualifies for services at Shining Star PPEC?Children from birth to 21 years old with complex medical conditions requiring skilled nursing care, therapy, and monitoring may qualify. A physician’s prescription and insurance approval are required.

How many hours per day can my child attend?We offer flexible scheduling, allowing children to attend up to 12 hours per day, depending on their medical needs.

Does Shining Star PPEC provide transportation?Yes! We offer free transportation to and from our center, based on insurance approval and location.

Does Medicaid cover PPEC services?Yes, Medicaid fully covers PPEC services for eligible children. We also assist with verifying private insurance benefits.

Are there any out-of-pocket costs?If covered by Medicaid, there are no out-of-pocket costs for families. Coverage through private insurance may vary.

How can I enroll my child at Shining Star PPEC?Enrollment is simple! We will guide you through the process, which includes: A physician’s prescription for PPEC services Insurance approval (Medicaid or private) A comprehensive intake assessment at our center

Can I visit my child during the day?Absolutely! We encourage parental involvement and welcome visits at any time during our operating hours.

What are the operating hours of Shining Stars PPEC?We are open Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 6:00pm and Saturday from 7:00am to 2:00pm to accommodate the needs of our families.

Can my child attend PPEC while also receiving home nursing care?Yes! Many families combine PPEC with home nursing services. Your child’s care team will determine the best schedule to meet their medical and therapy needs.

How do you ensure my child's safety and well-being?Our center is staffed with licensed nurses, therapists, and trained caregivers who monitor each child closely. We follow strict safety protocols and have emergency procedures in place.

Can my child attend PPEC if they are in school?Yes! We work with school schedules and can coordinate care before or after school hours. Some children attend PPEC on days they are not in school or as an alternative if homebound.
